Kyubi Taika

Wednesday was Kyubi Taika! Kyubi Taika is a school-wide sports tournament. You have no classes, and just play sports all day. At my school, first years played volleyball, 3rd years played basketball, and I’m not sure what 2nd years were doing but I think they were either running or playing volleyball also. I’m no good at sports, but it was really fun! Before we started, we did a sort of team huddle thing, and they asked me to say something in English. So I said “Everyone have fun and do your best!” And they were super impressed. People are always really surprised when they hear me speak english for some reason. They always ask me to say funny things…but I’ll talk about that in another post!
I played in the first game, but I was really bad and we lost, so that was the only game I got to play. They’re really competitive and take things like P.E. really seriously! If they miss the ball or something, they feel really ashamed like they let everyone down. One girl in my class missed it and started crying. Their competitiveness made it really fun though, because everyone was really into it! I actually had more fun cheering for everyone than I had playing! Everyone was really amazing. On the guys team, one time we were losing by 9 points, and this one guy came up to serve and his serve was so fast that no one could return it! By the time he finally messed up and didn’t hit it over, we were tied with them! And then we won! It was amazing! Gosh, I had so much fun. I wish we did this every week!
The pictures with guys are the guys from my class being awesome at volleyball. All the pictures I took of the girls came out blurry :( The first picture is of some girls from another class. The pictures below don't really have anything to do with volleyball, but my friends are really cute! Also it was hilarious because they had this fan and they were holding it out in front of them and then bringing it closer and closer to their face...I don't know why. But they were making funny faces while doing it.
